San Francisco Zoo

Structural engineering services were performed on a variety of zoo structures.

New Grizzly Gulch – New pavilion for public viewing and educational purposes.

Hippo/Rhino Exhibit– Renovation to existing barn and enclosure; new ADA pool ramp design for elderly hippo; and design of barriers for special animal loadings.

Emergency Remediation to Lion and Tiger Grotto– After tiger had escaped its enclosure there was a great deal of pressure to bring the grottos up to national standards. In addition to meeting those standards, we studied the speed and leaping ability of the tiger before the design process.
